What is Altruism?

Altruism is the anti ego. It is the compass that we must uplift others. From the Wikipedia Entry for "Altruism" "the principle and moral practice of concern for happiness of other human beings, resulting in a quality of life both material and spiritual."

Organized Effort - Altruism Guideline

  1. The Effort must have a clear, explicit outline (communicated in plain language) of who the Beneficiaries are. It must be clearly communicated for who, why, when and how.
  2. The Contributors' benefit must always be the secondary focus of the Effort. The contributors can benefit from the results of the Effort, but this must NOT be the primary goal of it.
  3. The Effort cannot exploit any natural resources without the appropriate consent, consensus and necessary agreements.
  4. All Effort must respect the local governing laws, guidelines & appropriate authority. This is a worldwide platform and every jurisdiction is different; we are providing a platform that is open, and consequently respectful of all human rights. As such we will not censure or police projects / effort / contributions / communication, to the best of our abilities.
  5. All participants must be respectful, constructive and inclusive. Critical thought and objectivity is something we appreciate, but it must be done within a reasonable and constructive manner. More info can be found on our Code of Conduct
  6. You must do your best to foster an inclusive and open environment, which welcomes as many diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds as possible.
